A little about me
“Real estate is in my blood” is an expression that Bruce Blocksidge is frequently heard stating.
And it’s easy to see why. His grandfather, George Blocksidge, was a founding member of the Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ). His father, Henry Blocksidge, sat on the Board of the REIQ with the original Ray White. These legacies gave Bruce a love of real estate and immense knowledge of the Brisbane property market. It’s unsurprising then that at over 90 years of age, he still comes into the office almost every day.
However, before he joined the family business, Bruce made sure he had plenty of skills and experience to bring to the company. In his early years Bruce studied law at the University of Queensland and worked in the legal profession for over five years. He then traveled to England where he worked in a real estate agency in Mayfair in the middle of London. He eventually returned to Australia and joined the family business in 1959.
Upon joining the business, Bruce worked hard to establish himself as an outstanding real estate agent in the Brisbane market. His incredible work ethic has seen him working in the Brisbane real estate industry for over sixty years. In an industry where many agents fail to make it past five years, this is an impressive feat. His list of achievements over the years show his expertise in real estate, particularly his stint as Director of the REIQ. He also maintained his license as a valuer, auctioneer and real estate agent for many years, often using them to help with more than just real estate. Bruce undertook many community initiatives over the years such as acting as a charity auctioneer for the University of Queensland.
Bruce is fiercely proud of being part of such a longstanding family business. He is passionate about upholding the company’s values of integrity, honesty and premium customer service. Anthony has been in the Real Estate industry for 9 years. It all started back in the U.K after Anthony finished his schooling and had been offered the position of Trainee Sales Negotiator for Mann Countrywide. It was here, Anthony learnt the foundations of his craft that lead to a very successful sales career. Olivia’s passion for real estate and obsession with the Brisbane property market became obvious when she and her husband bought their first unit in 2009. They later converted it into a profitable investment property that they then sold to purchase a larger family home to accommodate their two beautiful children.
Prior to joining Bees Nees, Olivia provided professional and efficient service delivery, change management and business improvement to the Queensland Police Service (QPS). As an effective member of an executive support team, she facilitated various initiatives on behalf of the Executive Director, Administration Division. The initiatives improved the Division’s service delivery to front-line policing and reduced the Division’s annual budget spend.
